Karwar: More than 1.15 million enumeration forms have been distributed across Uttara Kannada district as part of the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR)-2026 of electoral rolls, with election authorities also completing the mapping of over 1.15 million voters, District Election Officer and Deputy Commissioner K. Lakshmi Priya said.
The district has a total of 1,230,037 registered voters, of whom 1,158,776 have been mapped so far under the revision exercise. A total of 1,154,356 enumeration forms have been distributed across the district, while 40,401 forms have already been digitised, she said.
During the ongoing house-to-house verification drive, election officials have identified 811 voter records requiring further action. These include 103 cases of permanent migration, 656 deceased voters, and 47 duplicate entries, detected during the verification process.
The Special Intensive Revision (SIR)-2026 exercise is being undertaken to update the electoral rolls by verifying voter details and identifying ineligible entries, ensuring that the voter list remains accurate and up to date ahead of future elections.
