Bhatkal: The Murdeshwar Police on Saturday conducted a speed enforcement drive on National Highway 66 using a Speed Radar Gun to check overspeeding vehicles and promote road safety.
During the operation, the speed of passing vehicles was monitored at a designated point on the highway. Murdeshwar Police Sub-Inspector Hanumanth Biradar said the drive was aimed at ensuring compliance with traffic rules and reducing road accidents caused by overspeeding.
He said similar speed checks would be conducted at random in the future and urged motorists to adhere to speed limits. Reckless driving and overspeeding endanger not only the driver but also other road users, he said.
The police appealed to the public to drive responsibly and follow traffic regulations to help prevent accidents on the highway.
