MANGALURU: News Trail, an English daily published from Bengaluru, Qatar and Hubballi, formally launched its Mangaluru edition on Friday. The launch took place at a glittering ceremony held at The Ocean Pearl, with several eminent dignitaries in attendance, adding grandeur to the occasion.
The new edition is set to cater to readers across the coastal and Malenadu regions of Karnataka, further strengthening the newspaper’s commitment to credible, balanced and people-centric journalism.
Among those present were Dr. U.T. Ifthikar Fareed, Chairman of the Karnataka State Allied and Healthcare Council; Ivan D’Souza, MLC; Fr Sudeep Paul, Director of Sandesha Foundation; Sister Vishweshwari of the Brahmakumari International Centre, Mangaluru; M.A. Gafoor, Chairman of the Coastal Development Board; T.M. Shahid Thekkil, Chairman of the Minimum Wage Advisory Board; Adoor Ibrahim, IAS, former Deputy Commissioner of Mangaluru; S.M. Arshad, Managing Director of Mohtisham Complexes Pvt. Several dignitaries observed that the launch of a newspaper is not merely the addition of another publication, but the birth of a new voice and an investment in democracy. They noted that society needs media guided not by sensationalism but by substance, not by ideology but by integrity, and not by noise but by truth.
