Mangaluru: Police have arrested a notorious rowdy-sheeter, Najeem alias Najju (30), who was wanted in several criminal cases across different police stations.

Najeem, a resident of Pattulike in Narikombu village, Bantwal taluk, had been accused in eight major cases including murder, extortion, assault, and NDPS violations registered in Konaje, Ullal, Mangaluru North, Begur (Bengaluru City), and Bhatkal police stations.
After being released on bail, Najeem had absconded for over one-and-a-half years without appearing before the court. Subsequently, a warrant and proclamation were issued against him. Acting on this, a special police operation tracked him down in Bengaluru, where he was arrested.
Police records show that from 2015 to 2023, multiple cases were registered against him for unlawful assembly, rioting, criminal trespass, threats, attempt to murder, abetment of crime, deliberate insult, group liability, self-harm, assault with weapons, extortion, abduction, illegal detention, and under the NDPS Act.
Mangaluru City Police Commissioner stated that the arrest was made possible under the guidance of DCP (Law & Order) South and through the dedicated efforts of Konaje police personnel—Dinesh, Sharif, and Ramesh.
