Bhatkal: A major tragedy was averted near Netrani island in the Arabian Sea on Monday morning when a fishing boat capsized with 30 fishermen on board. Nearby fishing boats rushed to the spot and managed to rescue all 30 fishermen safely.
It has been learnt that the boat, named Maha Murdeshwar and owned by Anappa Baira Moger, met with the accident on Monday morning.
According to sources, the boat was completely submerged, resulting in losses estimated to be over ₹1 crore. Further details regarding the incident are awaited.
