Dubai: A fire broke out at an under-construction building near Jumeirah Village Circle, a Gulf News reader said on Saturday.

“It appears to be a building under construction,” the reader said.

Pictures supplied by the reader showed black smoke coming out of the building.

A Civil Defence spokesman said: "A fire broke out at 12:15pm in an under-construction building in Jumeirah Village Circle opposite Emirates Hills. Teams from Marina and Port Saeed fire stations at the scene."

The fire was brought under control at around 4:40pm and there were no injuries or casualties, the spokesman added.
