Karwar: Karnataka’s Minister for Fisheries, Ports, and Inland Water Transport, and Uttara Kannada district in-charge, Mankal S. Vaidya, on Saturday visited the residence of a fisherman who tragically lost his life during a fishing expedition in Bhatkal taluk.
The deceased, Madev Govind Moger, a resident of Belke village, drowned after his boat capsized while he was engaged in fishing activities. During his visit, Minister Vaidya offered condolences to the bereaved family and handed over a cheque of ₹10 lakh as compensation under the Fishermen Distress Relief Fund scheme.
