    You could soon take a helicopter taxi from Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) here to Electronics City, flying the distance in just 12 to 15 minutes. Launched by Minister of State for Civil Aviation Jayant Sinha on Friday, the service is all set to take off in three months. KIA is the first airport and Bengaluru is the first city in the country with such a service.

    The income tax department today said its field offices will remain open till midnight tomorrow to facilitate very senior citizens and those with income below Rs 5 lakh to file tax returns for 2016-17. The last date for filing of Income Tax Returns (ITRs) was extended from July 31 to August 5 in view of difficulties faced by taxpayers.

    Maharashtra reported 855 cases of farmer suicides during the January-April period of this year against 1,023 cases in the year-ago period, Parliament was informed on Friday. "The answer to unfortunate instances of farmers' suicides lies in improving their welfare," Union Agriculture Minister Radha Mohan Singh said in the Rajya Sabha.
