    The Manipal police have filed a case against the father of an 18-month-old child, namely, Chirag who died after their vehicle hit a pothole on 2nd October. Chirag was on his mother’s lap while his father Umesh Poojary was riding the vehicle on their way to Hiriyadka from Manipal. Chirag was thrown off the bike when it hit a pothole and died on the spot. Parents sustained minor injuries.

    A Sonipat Court on Tuesday pronounced a life sentence for Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) Abdul Karim Tunda, convicted in 1996 Sonipat bomb blasts case. On Monday, Tunda was pronounced guilty by the court, and booked under Section 307 (attempt to murder) and 120 B (criminal conspiracy) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), and Section 3 of the Explosive Substances Act.
