Bhatkal: In a rare display of benevolence, a couple, commemorating the memories of their late parents, had decided to provide free education to the poor children by distributing text books, copies and other essential school commodities. 

Venkatesh Naik, a school teacher by profession, and his wife have attended 50 schools in the Hurlisal taluk since the past six years and has distributed books and stationeries in memory of their parents.

On this occasion, Venkatesh Naik said:  "Due to the sudden death of my parents, I couldn't serve them but by helping the children in their education gives me the satisfaction that I have served my parents".

In the upcoming years, Venkatesh aims to help the students belonging to economically weaker sections in every possible way.
