Bhatkal: In a rare incident, a massive 15 kg tumour was removed from a woman's stomach at the Bhatkal Government hospital.

It is reported that the woman from Marukeri grama panchayat of Bhatkal Taluk has visited the hospital. Dr. Manjunath Shetty, who operated the lady said that the woman was suffering from stomach ache since 8 years. 

When the pain became severe , she visited the government hospital for the treatment. On further diagnosis, the pre-surgery scans showed a huge operable tumour was present inside her stomach.

Dr. Manjunath Shetty successfully operated on the lady and removed the tumour. It is learnt that the woman is still in the hospital and is recovering well.

Manjunath Shetty is a successful surgeon who has performed numerous surgeries involving tumours.
