Bhatkal: The Bhatkal Taluk administration, under the Systematic Voters' Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) programme, organised awareness sessions on the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls at the Post-Matric Minority Students' Hostel and Government ITI College in Bhatkal to encourage greater participation of young voters.

Addressing the programmes, Sunil M, Executive Officer of the Bhatkal Taluk Panchayat, urged eligible youth to register as voters and actively participate in the SIR exercise to strengthen democracy. SVEEP Nodal Officer Uday Borker, Master Trainer Raghavendra Madival, and Minority Students' Hostel Extension Officer Shamsuddin explained the procedures for new voter registration, correction of names and addresses, updating details of shifted voters, and deletion of ineligible entries, while highlighting the importance of maintaining an accurate electoral roll. ITI College official Palekar also attended the programme.
Students participated enthusiastically and pledged to spread awareness about the voter revision process among their families and the public. The taluk administration said similar SVEEP awareness programmes will continue across educational institutions and public places to encourage maximum participation in the ongoing SIR exercise.
