Mangaluru: A social worker and scooter rider was killed on the spot when a car collided with his scooter at Sajipa in Bantwal taluk of Dakshina Kannada district on Thursday evening.

The deceased has been identified as Ahmed Aseer (22), son of Abdul Rahman and a resident of Sajipa.

According to sources, Aseer was riding his Activa scooter towards Sajipa Bank, located about one kilometre from his residence, when the accident occurred.

The impact of the crash was so severe that Aseer suffered fatal injuries and died on the spot. The scooter was completely mangled in the accident.

The tragedy has sent shockwaves through the local community. Despite his young age, Aseer was actively involved in social and humanitarian activities.

Traffic police officials visited the accident site and conducted an inspection. A case has been registered at the traffic police station, and further investigation is underway.
