Mundgod: An elderly senior person committed suicide by hanging himself to the roof of a house with a rope at Mundgod. 

The deceased has been identified as Yallappa(70), a resident of Nandi gudda in Mundgod. 

As per the sources, it is learnt that the victim's wife had passed away two years ago and his daughter died a year ago. The victim was under severe depression which led him to take this extreme step.

It is said that he hanged himself in his house at midnight when all the family members were sleeping. The incident came to light in the morning when the members of the family woke up.

PSI Lakappa Naik rushed the spot and have registered the case. Further investigations are on.
