Coast Guard undertakes another search and rescue at Kotepura

Mangaluru:  Indian Coast Guard on Saturday undertook another mission off Kotepura near the old port at Mangaluru.

Although the search for missing fisherman from sunken boat Guru Anugraha off Bhatkal is in progress, the Coastal Security Police reported another incident of boat capsizing to Coast Guard authorities.

According to the sources, fishing boat 'Sathi Savitri' with three fishermen had capsized in morning off Kotepura near Old Port Mangalore. The boat had left Malpe three days ago and was heading towards Mangaluru.

Coast Guard Karnataka on receiving the information, diverted its helicopter from the assigned area for the search. One fisherman swam and reached the shore near old port, Mangalore. The helicopter started the rescue of the other two missing fishermen. Another fisherman also managed to reach ashore.

The search for one fisherman is still in progress, Coast Guard Karnataka stated it is  doing everything in its power to rescue the fisherman.
