Bantwal: Illegal cattle trafficking - five animals rescued, two held

Bantwal: Two people were arrested when a team of policemen from Vittal station raided a gang of illegal cattle traffickers at Mani Junction and took into possession a vehicle carrying four bullocks and a cow. The incident occurred on Wednesday August 10.

The accused happen to be Shivashankar (27) and Santosh (30), residents of Arasikere.

As per the reports, the police team, was clearing the traffic because of the gas tanker accident at Udane, when they were informed that five cattle were being transported into the district from Haasan.

When the police stopped and enquired regarding the cattles, it was learnt that the animals were being taken to Farangipet from the weekly market at Hassan.

A case was registered about this incident in Vittal police station.
